Here is a little back story on why wedding photography has become so important to me…
After getting married myself to my 18 year love 6 years ago in a magical venue like Las Vegas Nevada – All I kept thinking to myself was oh how amazing the photos will be – I was reminded how truly important picking the right wedding photographer is for your big day. Now let me start off by saying I am not one to bash anyone in this field I support all who have a passion for this art, the guy did the best he could in the circumstances but since I am a photog myself I wanted and expected a certain level of photos and unfortunately I didn’t get that. I met my wedding photographer 10 mins before my ceremony so he knew nothing about either of us and if it wasn’t for me being a photographer I’m not too sure I would have liked any of the photos. So after my ceremony my photog brain kicked in and I started making sure I got the combinations I wanted and requested a photo of my extremely long veil blowing behind me that he for sure would not have done if it wasn’t for my suggestion. I almost felt like I was working on my wedding day… Ugh! I just didn't feel as if my wedding photos truly told the story of how beautiful my day was, HOWEVER this is why I do what I do, so that no Bride & Groom ever have to look back at their wedding portraits and feel the disappointment I felt, as your wedding day is one of the most important moments of your forever!
The moral of my story is, invest in your wedding photos and make them one of the top priorities on your wedding to do list! I like to remind my Wedding Couples of this… After the day is gone, the flowers are wilted, the cake and food are eaten, the dress is boxed away for safe keeping and the venue is no longer accessible to you, your wedding portraits are all you have!
